Cyprus Events and What's On

The month of May is named after the Greek Goddess Maia, mother of Hermes, who was one of the Mountain Goddesses of Cyllene. Zeus discovered the beautiful young woman and fell in love with her. They eventually had a son, Hermes, together, even though he was married to the jealous Hera.
