Detoxification the FDM Way

In this second part of Toxicity I will highlight some aspects of Functional Diagnostic Medicine detoxification, your next stage on the road to Wellness. A full three week Detoxification program is done in a group of 10 or more people in the method of seminars and weekly home programs divided into three parts. Today I will give you some guidance to detoxification you can do now if you are trying to heal yourself.

The main purpose of Functional Detoxification is to enhance waste elimination by inducing the release of accumulated toxins from various organs and cells and their elimination from the body.

Toxic burden leads to many chronic diseases and it is important not only to remove these toxins with the special help of Functional Detoxification, but to incorporate the Detox skills and resources into a health promoting lifestyle.

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS THAT I NEED TO DETOXIFY?

When the organs of elimination, the liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs and skin are burdened with excessive toxins they will show signs of distress. The following are some of the signs that you need to detoxify.

  1. Rashes, pimples, or offensive body odour indicate the skin is stressed.
  2. Frequent, painful or urgent urination or dark or offensive smelling urine, indicates the kidneys are stressed.
  3. Gas, diarrhoea and constipation are the first signs of intestinal stress. Green, mucous in the stools, itchy skin or right sided chest and back pain indicates the liver is stressed.
  4. Congestion, coughs or wheezing indicates the lungs are stressed.

From headaches to hypertension, each of us will show signs of stress differently depending upon weaknesses of our body and the nature of toxins we are burdened with.

Ignoring these warnings of our body can lead to different chronic diseases and reduction in longevity.

One of the best ways to enhance waste elimination is with Functional Detoxification, a comprehensive 21 day health recovery program that boosts the eliminative capacity of the liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs and skin with specialised diet and supportive nutritional therapies.

If you do not have mayor health problems yet and only want to start detoxification to improve your energy and mood, here are some recommendations:

Directions:

  • Do three days of Functional Detoxification. This is best done on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so you can rest at the same time.
  • Replace processed foods with “super-foods”, like the Detox Shake, that can provide essential nutrients, as well as enhance the elimination of stressful toxins that would otherwise interfere with healthy function. You can substitute Detox Shake any day you want to start healthily, not only on your “Detox” day.
  • Use your specialised recommended detoxification supplements.
  • Remember to drink a lot of water (8-10 glasses per day) to flush out the toxins.
  • Include exercise, not too strenuous; choose what is best for you.
  • Finally rest and recuperate.

Detox Shake:

Ingredients to Make One Serving (0,5-1L)

  • 1-2 scoops                  Powdered Detoxification Formula
  • 1 scoop                        Whey Protein
  • 1,5-2 cups                    Water, rice milk, nut milk
  • 1-2 Tbsp                      Ground Flax seeds
  • 0,5-1 cup                     Organic fruit-fresh or frozen(examples: berries, peaches, plums, pears)
  • 1-3 tsp                         Liquid Essential Fatty Acids
  • 1-2 tsp.                        Liquid Lecithin (or 2 Tbsp. Granular)
  • ¼ tsp.                           Powdered probiotics
  • Optional Ingredients:
  • ½ -1 tsp.                      Raw Honey or maple syrup
  • 1 scoop                        Powdered Greens
  • ½ tsp.                           Cinnamon
  • 1-2 Tbsp.                     Toasted wheat and/or Oat bran

Directions:

Blend all ingredients together. Let it sit for a few minutes and then blend again, adding more of the liquid to achieve desired consistency.

Option: Blend a full day`s supply. Keep refrigerated and mix your shake prior to pouring.

Take 5 shake servings per day for three days Detox program. If desired you can have steamed, sautéed or raw veggies for supper.

Drink 1 cup of water per hour.

This diet plan of the Functional Detoxification program is designed to eliminate most of the toxins commonly found in food.

During these three days, and for one month if desired, avoid:

  1. All dairy
  2. All meat
  3. Eggs
  4. All seafood
  5. Grains (especially corn and wheat)
  6. Beans, nuts, and seeds
  7. Processed, fried and refined foods
  8. Salt, sweets, and spices (i.e. pepper)
  9. Coffee, tea and alcohol

To enhance detoxification it is recommended to have daily dry brushing of the skin, massage, hydrotherapy and an infrared sauna.
